Where it all began

The Cozy Craft Mom began as a way for me to share my creations with others. Crafting and crochet have always been my way to reset and care for myself doing something I love and have found so much benefit from.
Although my goal is to build something new that brings both my love of crafting and creativity & mental health together I will hope to bring a little joy to those that find my items and want to bring them home! If interested in anything you see, please submit an inquiry form below and I will reach out within 24 hours.

All items are handmade and made to order, so please allow for 3-10 business day for production. If items are being shipped, you will receive shipping information as soon as it is completed. Prices may vary from listed based on item and will be verified upon order. Additional cost will be discussed and an invoice will be sent before order is completed! I’ve always loved crafting because I have such an internal desire to be creative, but i remember as a kid not trying things like painting or drawing because I didn’t think I’d be good at it.
.
.
And what I’ve realized is, there are many different types of artists and mediums of art. AND the getting good comes from trying and being a little bad at it…and trying again!
.
.
I say this in my crochet classes as well, you can learn the skills and be on your way but the time, the attempts, the practice of doing it…that’s when you start to get better and see what’s possible!
.
.
It’s an ongoing process…giving up control and experiencing the process without judgement. But it’s deff worth it.
.
.
I make handmade crochet gifts to bring whimsy and joy to peoples lives and I host craft workshops to bring the joy and self discovery that comes from art and trying new things to people in the community!

We’ve been doing a lot of creating around here lately, and not just me! Our house is definitely filled with artistic, creative hearts and it’s felt really natural lately.

I can certainly get caught up in the productivity because of course I want to be successful but I have to remind myself that it was my hobby and biggest method of relaxation first.
.
.
It’s felt nice lately for it to feel more natural and prompted from creative energy rather then the hustle!
.
.
I’m telling you, crafting, art, any and all forms, is such a great way to have some grounded time to just create and be in the moment. That is surely the energy and purpose I try and bring to my classes!

It’s true…old habits die hard! 🫣
.
.
.
Even though being with my kids is not alone, it still qualifies when doing things with my kids. Idk I just feel a little more confident sometimes if something should go wrong or it doesn’t go according to plan…when I’m with someone else.
.
.
But that has lead to a lot of times not doing things that might be fun and entertaining for me and my kids! I’ve pushed myself through it over the years but I’ve noticed lately it’s creeped back in.
.
.
And it shows up in other areas too. Me creating things can be hard because the comparison certainly happens or I’m afraid to do the thing alone in case it fails
.
.
But i guess my point is, that I know I can see the difficult, negative, etc first and let it control me at times but when I don’t…there are beautiful moments like this!
.
.
I’ve been wanting to do these chalk glimmers since i saw someone doing it on IG and finally talked into it and coupled it with a scooter ride/walk. There was some whining, but it was also a nice thing out of the ordinary for us to do together and I’m glad I did!

I attended Bad Art Good Company this weekend, which was an event put on by @southburyarts and it was such a good time!

There is truly nothing like being in a room full of people doing art….and I mean, just creating! Not being good, not following instructions(although that’s an option too) but just taking in a literal buffet of art supplies and making whatever you want! It’s not about the result, it’s about the act of slowing down and tapping into a part of us we usually haven’t regularly explored since childhood!
.
.
And the best part is, you’re doing it with other people! You don’t have to make small talk, or you can, but the expectations are low because everyone is just there to slow down and create together!
.
.
